The Bluestreaks Club junior team THUNDER is looking for outdoor players for the Spring 2025 outdoor season!
Outdoor league games are played at the University of Calgary Hawkings Field on Sundays. We strive for 11 vs. 11 games, including the goalkeeper (or 5 vs. 5 or 7 vs. 7 for U12/U14). All levels are welcome.
This is a great way to complement your high school field hockey skills and/or switch sports for the spring after ringette/ice hockey season.
Age groups include:
- U12
- U14
- U16
- U18
- Beginner U19s are also welcome!
Season
- Practices: Start April 9 and end June 22
- Games: Begin May 4 and end June 22
- Festivals: Two are scheduled for the season for Lacombe (June 1) and Calgary (June 22)
Location
- Practices: Viper’s Dome, 2255 Crowchild Trail
- U12/U14/U16/U18
- Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. or 8:00-9:30 p.m.
- Games: University of Calgary, Hawkings Field (turf), 3876 Warren St
- U12/U14/U16/U18
- Sundays: May 4, 11, and 25 | June 8 and 15
Fees
- Annual registration/insurance fee: $46 paid to Field Hockey Alberta: https://www.rampregistrations.com/login?v3=a71e044b
- Registration year runs September 1, 2024-August 31, 2025
- Player dues: $300 to be paid through Bluestreaks Club
Equipment Required
- Shin guards
- Mouth guard
- Stick (can be rented*)
- Shoes (no cleats)
- Shorts
- Water bottle
- Gloves (optional)
- Team shirt and socks (colours are orange/white) – reversible shirt provided for the season and socks included with fees
